Want to know a little more about your Career Coach, Mandy?
I am an Introverted, coffee loving, soccer mom, who has been happily married for 19 years. If you were sitting in my home office you would quickly be able to tell I am a book enthusiast, hoarder of office supplies (especially purple pens), and devotee of inspiring words. I love listening to podcasts in the endless hours I spend driving my boys to practices and I am a huge Ted Lasso fan.
As a Career Coach I am able to live my purpose everyday helping others find fulfilment and joy in the world of work. Now it wasn’t always this way. It took some twists, turns, and mistakes along the way to finding work I love.
If you rewind a decade you would have found me in a job I thought was my dream job, except it wasn’t. I was a working mom of two young boys, putting in 60+ hours per week, in a job that didn’t align with my interests, values, skills and personality. It was simply the next level of advancement in my career path, and as a high achiever it was a role with a fancy title that I had always aspired to achieve. It took me 2.5 years to admit this was not my dream job, but where did that leave me? Well, it left me terrified! If not this, then what?
As a Career Coach I had an advantage that many don’t have, and that is knowing what I needed to do to find career fulfillment. I took a good, hard look at myself, at what I wanted for my life and what aligned with my interests, values, skills and personality. I then mustered up all of my courage and quit my job to start my own business as a Career and Executive Coach. Now, I am a risk-averse person, so this was an atypical type of decision for me (and frankly shocked my family and friends), especially when you consider the fact that my previous job offered free college tuition for my children. I decided to take off those golden handcuffs because I knew that life was simply too short to be miserable at work. I prioritized my happiness and fulfillment because I needed to do the work that served others and brought me joy.
If you take anything from my story it’s this: you are deserving of work you love and while it may be scary, finding joy and fulfillment at work is worth the risk.
I do what I do because I 100% believe that EVERYONE is deserving of work they love. And sometimes they need some help, support, and encouragement to get there. I want you to find work that fills you up, that leverages your unique qualities that make you great, and to no longer let fear drive your career decision making process.
When it comes to careers, I have 17+ years of experience helping people find careers that will bring them joy and fulfillment and a proven process to help you do the same. I’ll be here coaching you every step of the way, so let’s get started!
